FWC arrests 4 for drug possession, trespassing

Seventy psilocybin mushrooms are off the street and a St. Lucie County landowner is breathing a sigh of relief following the arrests of two adults and two juveniles. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officers charged the suspects with felony drug possession with the intent to sell and misdemeanor trespassing.

On May 5, FWC officers followed a suspicious vehicle heading into a private pasture off Canal Road. They saw four males carrying grocery bags in their hands. When the officers made their presence known, the men dropped their bags. Inside the bags were approximately 70 psilocybin mushrooms. The men told the officers they had visited the pasture on a previous occasion to collect the mushrooms with the purpose of cooking them to obtain a high.

Stephen R. Pimentel (DOB 04/15/91) and Christian A. Martinez (DOB 04/30/92), both of Miami Lakes, were booked into the St. Lucie Jail. Luis A. Medino (DOB 08/15/93) and Eric Espunosa (DOB 12/04/92), both of Miami Lakes, were transported to the St. Lucie Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
